Background
In the far north of Queensland, Australia, a group of determined employees and volunteers are using cutting-edge technology to transform over 527 acres of degraded land into thriving ecosystems.
This pioneering organisation, supported by Prism, is not only planting trees but also planting the seeds for a sustainable and self-sufficient future.
Problem
Biodiversity loss driven by deforestation, habitat fragmentation and invasive species incursion disrupts ecosystem resilience and critical services like climate regulation, water cycles, and nutrient cycling. Ecosystems provide numerous services crucial for human survival and cultural well-being. Climate Force is collaborating with researchers and First Nation leaders to create a blueprint for land diversification in tropical regions around the world. Their research station is pioneering high-biodiversity regeneration methodologies and demonstrating how a monoculture farm can diversify to support biodiversity, culture and green infrastructure.
More than 450,000 native trees will be planted in the Daintree Rainforest over the next 25 years, restoring critical wildlife corridors, trapping carbon dioxide and protecting the Great Barrier Reef.
Before partnering with Prism, they were not reaching their fundraising potential in the UK. Now they can claim gift aid which adds 25p to every pound.

“We co-create with indigenous people, farmers, and scientists to heal the land and create economy. Our operation is also entirely self-sustaining. Everything we need—energy, water, and waste management—we generate on-site.”

Impact
Climate Force intends to be a leading example of a Nature Positive project that is committed to reversing biodiversity loss by 2030 and achieving full recovery by 2050.
They are leading the way in ecological monitoring as they gather data from various sources including soil health, water availability, species diversity, and carbon sequestration potential, and transform it into a centralised database enabling benchmarking and data-driven decision-making.
To capture this information, they are using the most cutting-edge agricultural technology, from drones to virtual reality, to exhibit impact and share knowledge.
By creating an open data source and making their findings accessible to all, they hope to accelerate development of affordable nature-based solutions.
“Working with Prism provided a crucial boost to our fundraising effort, helping us raise more funds with the same level of donor support. They have offered us multiple solutions, such as running dedicated campaigns via a Just Giving platform. It has also helped with reducing financial volatility because of the structured cash flow it created.”
